December 2012
Dear family and friends,
The Lord has surely been kind to use this year! Our 2012 opened with a wonderful gift, as
Victor Albert Katterson arrived on his due date, January 6.
The rest of the year has been mostly marked by milestones
for our little boy … and a few for his daddy and momma.
Victor has been a mellow, sweet baby. He has grown well, eaten well, slept well (at
least, since he started sleeping through the night at 8 months), and made
friends around the neighborhood, at church, in the grocery store, and most
other places he goes.
Ben worked extremely
hard during his spring semester (4 weeknight classes) and after one last class
in the summer, he officially completed his Urban Elementary Ed degree in
August!
This fall, in addition to his work at Bethlehem Baptist
Church as the South Logistics Coordinator, he also really enjoyed teaching at
two homeschool co-ops, along with continuing leadership in his Friday morning
men’s group.
With the arrival of Victor, Amy transitioned to working
part-time from home, still as a ministry assistant for Bethlehem Baptist. Managing the responsibilities of mommyhood
with the challenges of work has been a good chance to see God give strength in
weakness—and it has been a huge privilege.
If you’re interested
in seeing pictures and videos of Victor’s clever, messy, and charming ways,
hearing tidbits of Katterson family life, and following other bits of God’s
work in our lives, feel free to visit Amy’s blog: splinteredkindling.blogspot.com.
How we thank God for His unexpected, undeserved, and
unending kindness to us, not because we earned it but because Jesus redeemed us
from sin and cloaked us with His righteousness.
Much grace to you,
Ben, Amy, and Victor Katterson
Though the fig tree should not blossom
and there be no fruit on the vine, though the yield of the olive should fail,
and the fields produce no food, though the flock should be cut off from the
fold, and there be no cattle in the stall, yet I will exult in the LORD, I will
rejoice in the God of my salvation.—Habakkuk 3:17-18
